That cage modern society put you in is not locked. You can walk out whenever you want to. And that is the secret. You can actually leave.
Are You Trapped by Modern Society – Part I
Besides taxes and the consequences if you don’t fulfil your duties as a citizen, there are also other ways of trapping you and keeping you inside that cage we call modern society. Just think about how all those expectations have been affecting your life choices. If you were lucky, you were expected to live a normal, healthy life, be a good son or daughter and then later on, a good father or mother. If you were unlucky and grew up, for example, in an abusive and drug-ridden neighborhood, you might have been expected to be part of a negative lifestyle. But however it was, it was all about expectations and at least as a child, it is very hard to break loose from those. Most never do, for those expectations are probably the strongest chain of them all.
So most people never get to live the life they really want and they never reach their full potential as human beings. As a side note to this: I have actually been called a rebel for keeping my hair long and for working out as hard as always in the gym after I turned 40, and the common attitude seems to be that I should stop lifting heavy, which I find shocking. However, I don’t care about what people expect or think about me and neither should you, by the way. You see, that cage modern society put you in is not locked. You can walk out whenever you want to. And that is the secret. You can actually leave. In Part I I wrote that you face serious challenges if you refuse to be part of modern society, but what happens if you just leave? Will you be hunted down and put in prison? Most likely not. If you leave, you are free. But you must leave everything behind. And that is the beauty of it. Leaving things behind will automatically set you free. You see, you don’t need much. I won’t say that you don’t need anything, that would be a lie, but let’s say you have a sailing boat, a laptop and some cash. I think that would be enough. I think that would be all you need to leave everything else behind and no longer be trapped by modern society.
