If you want to start a physical fight in Norway, you only need to bring up the subject of wolves, or more precisely, you need to say out loud that you want lots of wolves out in the Norwegian woods. If you do that, someone will probably stand up and call you names, while clenching his fists.
Living in the Past
Writing this, the Viking festival season is just over and I already miss it. I will probably go to York and stay there at the Viking festival in February, and until then my Viking crafts projects will keep me busy. But still, those autumn months always feel so long here in Norway …
My first design project – the Hagal
I’ve always been interested in the design of things, and especially those things we use in our daily lives. Since I love the outdoors and bushcraft, it has long been a dream […]
Viking Skills #6 – Parenting
I rate parenting as the sixth most important Viking skill, although I am tempted to say it should have been number 1 — it’s that essential.
What men really feel about rapists

Adopting a Viking Mentality – is it for you? Part II
We are fascinated by the Viking mentality. Their fighting spirit and their tenacity seem to have captivated the attention of an entire generation. Even archeologists I know hesitate to call themselves experts on this subject. It’s so clouded by centuries of monotheistic dogma that it’s only now that we are really beginning to understand the Viking world.
Bushcraft overnighter in the woods
Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved spending time in the woods. Now that I’m a father, I can enjoy the company of my kids and also teach them the art of bushcrafting. We’re very lucky to have the woods right behind our house – the forest has always been a natural part of our lives and a place where we feel at home. Here’s a video from our latest adventure – enjoy!
